I am on a mission. Join me.
Science has brought us so many wonderful things, like the internet, and beer, and your dad’s cholesterol medication. Many of us don’t understand how science did these things, but we want to. Some of us think science is nothing more than some sort of sorcery and don’t trust it for a minute. A few people out there even misuse “science” to manipulate other people into buying things that don’t help them, or worse, dividing the human race against itself.
I will not stand for any of this.
How will we fix it? Science literacy for all.
Mission 1: to give you, and every other person on Earth, the tools and confidence to read scientific articles for yourself, to critique science as it is presented in the media and in scholarly journals, and to appreciate science for the rigorous method that it is.
Mission 2: to educate researchers on how to write clearly and concisely about their work, bridging the literacy gap between scientists and the interested public.
Disclaimer: sensical is not a word
